Our most rigid kennel yet, the Hero Kennel is built for those it’s named after: Heroes.
This kennel is constructed of military grade materials developed and tested in the harshest environments. It’s perfect for those that have aggressive dogs or those who are just looking for an additional layer of security, while also proving to be an astounding option for military, police, or hunting dogs.
With a stainless steel door that boasts triple-locking capability, you know your dog will remain safe at all times. The first layer of security is our standard paddle latch locking door, and the last two are north-south button locks that are easy to operate. Further, because chewing can be a problem for some owners or handlers, the door has smaller ventilation holes than our other kennels – big enough to see through, but not big enough to gnaw on.
The Hero Kennel is also easy to clean, no matter what your dog gets into – just place it on its backend and spray down with a hose.
The Hero is built for large breed dogs – labradors, Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, etc. – but with interior dimensions of 35L x 18.5W x 27.75H, it can fit a variety of dogs if you need a heavy duty kennel. The exterior dimensions clock in at 40.25L x 26W x 30.1H, and the kennel weighs 54 pounds empty, so keep this in mind when purchasing the Hero to make sure it will fit in your vehicle.

Dakota 283 manufactures high-quality and innovative products to contain and protect your dog. We take pride in serving the vast majority of the dog population with our products. With that said, our kennel products may not contain all dogs. We expect that there are some breeds and or pets that are beyond containment with our products. While we have had great success in kenneling aggressive dogs, we are not claiming that we can contain every dog.
Dog owners know their dogs intimately and should be the person that makes the final determination regarding the use of any product or kennel. We are regularly working on additional products and upgraded designs that will give a higher degree of containment for aggressive breeds.
