    Amazing crate. Honestly, in my opinion, an upgrade from the 283 for larger dogs because the handle dip is not there taking up space inside the crate. My medium sized malinois were constantly rubbing and bending their backs in the 283 XL because of the top handle, which drove me insane. I love the side handles, and the doors on the economy crate. Although the door opening for the XL could be larger, thats my only gripe! The floor design is actually easier to clean, as if dogs have an accident, liquid collects in the grooves on the floor and less mess ON the dog; vs the 283 that pool up in corners or middle, and all over the dog. Love love love this crate!!!

    This kennel is well worth the money, after my police k9 injured himself on the wire kennel I began looking for better options. Yes this cost more money but take it from someone who had a large vet bill it’s well worth it for their safety. I looked at a lot of similar options and just kept coming back to this for price, time to ship and overall safety and security. I live in NY which is obviously close to where these kennels ship from but I can confirm it was shipped immediately and arrived in perfect condition. And after having this kennel for a couple months I can say for sure my dog is much more relaxed inside the kennel and I feel he is safe inside and cannot escape. I have called and emailed this company and all my questions were answered and I wasn’t jerked around or transferred to other people. I will continue to recommend this company.

    This is a fantastic kennel with one flaw. The door! My dog pushed it out with his nose, the door design needs to be fixed. Other than that. Love it

      Hello, Thank you for your feedback. Please make sure both the upper and lower pins are fully engaged on both sides of the door with the recessed holes. If your dog tends to be an escape artist our CRaTE Locking Pin may also help add extra security to the kennel door.

    After a handful of weeks using the Dakota 283 XL, I have to say I love it! For a product that is cheaper than its competitors, this product is better for cheaper. The construction is more well thought out and the size is larger (by a few inches), exactly what I needed for my Doberman. From the interior for your pup to the exterior name plate this will be my go to kennel. Yet with the durability of this product you won’t need more than 1 per dog. You won’t be disappointed. I’m sold that cheaper IS better in some cases.
